Tibor Baumann discovered writing and directing in the Nuremberg Kammerspiele and in theater groups and began his journey into film with a Sony XL H1. During his bachelor’s degree in theater and media studies at FAU-Erlangen, he wrote and shot various independent films and music videos.
After his bachelor’s degree, he gained several years of experience as an assistant director in various television and cinema productions (TATORT, Tigermilch, But I don’t love you, etc.). Various advertising productions and two documentary works also follow. The documentary ENDLESS WINTER, for which he is the author, wins the Silver Dolphin at the Cannes Corporate Media Awards 2019.
In addition to dramatic writing, Baumann writes various articles, including the column “Tibors Kopfkino” (CURT Magazin) in 2018-19, as well as some short formats. In 2017 his debut novel THREE MINUTES FOR EVERYONE was published (kladdebuch Verlag), in 2019 the biographical novel WHAT YOU NEVER SEE (Carpathia Verlag) in which he dealt with the blind surfer, musician and physiotherapist Hansi Mühlbauer. In the same year he won the future!publish award for the best book trailer 2019 for the trailer for the book.
In 2020 he will be admitted to the master’s program “Screenwriting & Dramaturgy” at the Film University Konrad Wolf Potsdam Babelsberg. In the winter semester 21/22, admission to the “Winterclass Serial Writing and Producing” talent program will follow.
In 2021/22 he shot his graduation film as an author and director at the Film University Konrad Wolf, the science fiction film EXIT PANGEA.
